Duration 52:21

Reaching the fourth stage of the Nine Stages of Calm Abiding brings with it some interesting changes and challenges. With increased calmness, your restless thoughts may suddenly seem profound and insightful, or you may be met with an onslaught of gross dullness. But fortunately, you’re now at the brink of eradicating the two biggest obstacles to your meditation (gross agitation and gross dullness).

In this video, I cover the varied and interesting experiences that can happen in the fourth stage of Calm Abiding. In particular, I look at what you can do if unpleasant experiences arise in your meditation, and I take a closer look at the power of introspection and how it lays the foundation for you to achieve the higher stages of Calm Abiding.
