Guided Meditation on the Sameness of Self and Others

Duration 20:6

At the heart of the Buddha’s teachings is the notion that all beings are worthy of our compassion. Yet, our compassion is often biased, only extending to family and friends or those that we feel some connection with.

Meditating on the Sameness of Self and Others is a skillful method to help break down the perceived barriers between us and others, so we can recognize our shared humanity. By recognizing our common wish to experience happiness and avoid suffering, our compassion can be developed to extend out to all sentient beings, without any limits.
