There are certain symbols in Buddhism that newcomers will usually become familiar with early on, like the lotus flower and the Wheel of Dharma. However, there are a set of eight symbols or signs that represent some of the amazing qualities of the Buddha and his teachings, which are frequently seen in Mahayana Buddhist temples, but are less well known.
